REPORT OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR
The Regional Committee,
Having given careful consideration to the report of the Regional Director,1to the first four reports of the Regional Multidisciplinary Expert Committees and to the report of the first meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee on Medical Research,2
1. APPROVES the new presentation of the report, which makes it easier to review;
2. NOTES with satisfaction that the report of the Regional Director for 1975 and 1976 is an evaluation report prepared in conformity with the guidelines laid down;3
3. CONGRATULATES the Regional Director and his team on the quality of the report;
4. ENDORSES the conclusions of the programme evaluations;
5. REQUESTS the Regional Director to bear the results of those evaluations in mind, together with operative paragraph 1 of resolution WH30.43 on the subject of technical cooperation, when preparing the 1980-1981 Programme-Budget;
6. APPROVES the recommendations of the Regional Multidisciplinary Expert Committees and of the Regional Advisory Committee on Medical Research, submitted for its consideration;

7. REQUESTS the Regional Multidisciplinary Expert Committees to bear in mind the guidelines in operative paragraph 1 of resolution WHA30.43 when formulating their recommendations;
8. REQUESTS Member States to communicate to the Regional Director the information required to complete the data on their country contained in report AFR/TRS/3 of the Regional Multidisciplinary Expert Committees on primary health care; and
9. REQUESTS the Regional Director to convey to the Director-General the report AFR/TRS/3, duly completed, as the contribution of the African Region to the International Conference on Primary Health Care at Alma-Ata (USSR), without prejudice to such separate contributions as States of Region may send.
