AFR/RC11/R1: 1960-1961 The Regional Committee,

Having examined the report of the Regional Director1 on the work during the period 1 April 1960 to 30 June 1961,

1. EXPRESSES its warm appreciation of the report;

2. STRESSES, after studying the report, the primary necessity of undertaking the training of medical and para-medical personnel in sufficient number to fulfil the present and future needs of all Member States and Associate Members of the Region;

3. STRESSES the primary necessity for closer co-ordination and co-operation between the Member States and Associate Members in the fields of public health and preventive medicine;

4. HEARTILY CONGRATULATES the Regional Director and his staff on the substantial results already obtained and the progress achieved in the period under review.
