AFR/RC32/R5:

The Regional Committee,

Having studied the report of the TCDC Standing Committee;1

Referring to resolutions AFR/RC29/R16, AFR/RC30/R15 and AFR/RC31/R9, 1. APPROVES the report;

2. NOTES WITH SATISFACTION the results obtained through the use of TCDC mechanisms by Member States in cooperation with WHO;

3. INVITES Member States to:

(i) implement the recommendations of the TCDC Standing Committee;

(ii) intensify and strengthen cooperation activities as part of TCDC mechanisms and with WHO’s collaboration, putting emphasis on managerial process for national health development and the exchange of information in all TCDC fields;

(iii) step up support to liberation movements recognized by the OAU and to the countries subjected to the barbaric acts of aggression of the racist regime of South Africa;

4. THANKS the Regional Director for the measures taken to promote TCDC in the Region;

5. REQUESTS the Regional Director:

(i) take appropriate measures to facilitate implementation of the Standing Committee’s recommendations;

(ii) continue his efforts to identify possible areas of cooperation among member States an supply any relevant information obtained.
