AFR/RC27/R12:

The Regional Committee,

Considering the report1 of the working group set up by resolution AFR/RC26/R8 to study the implementation of resolution WHA26.48 in the African Region,

1. APPROVES the report of the working group;

2. THANKS the members of the working group and the Regional Director for the thoroughness of the study and for the concrete proposals which it produced;

3. WELCOMES the tangible results achieved by the immediate application in the Region of the historic resolution WHA29.48;

5. REQUESTS the working group to continue its activities by making regular studies, in close collaboration with the Regional Director, of the implementation of resolution WHA29.48 and to report to the Committee;

4. REQUESTS the working group and the Regional Director to ensure that the reorganization of the structure of the Regional Office is carried out in a dynamic manner and that the use of human resources is governed by the development of the Regional programme.
