AFR/RC12/R1: 1961-1962 The Regional Committee,

Having examined the report of the Regional Director1 on the work during the period 1 July 1961 to 30 June 1962,

1. EXPRESSES its warm appreciation of the clear and extensive report;

2. STRESSES once more the primary necessity of undertaking the training of medical and para-medical personnel in sufficient number to fulfil the present and future needs of all Members States and Associate Members of the Region;

3. STRESSES the imperative necessity for closer co-ordination and co-operation between the Member States and Associate Members in the fields of public health and preventive medicine;

4. HEARTILY CONGRATULATES the Regional Director and his staff on the substantial results already obtained and the progress achieved in the period review.
