The pronunciation of .t presents the same basic difference: In English .t is aspirated when it precedes astressed vowel except when the .t itself is preceded by~: in Hungarian it is never aspirated. In addition. in the produc-tion of the Hungarian .t. the tongue touches a point that is more forward in the mouth: it actually touches the back side of the upper teetr. which i t does not do in English.

Possession in English is expr~ssed

by such words as 'my', 'your', 'his', 'her', 'our', and 'their', or by the use of the apostrophe with s after a noun.

Hungarian has no forms corresponding to the above English ways of express ing possession. Instead possession is shown by suffixes added to the stem of the noun indicating the person or thing possessed. The following table gives the forms of the possessive for singular nouns in all persons.
