L e prdsent num6ro d'Acta Endoscopica sous la direction du professeur R. Kiesslich r e m e t en cause les possibilit6s et les limites de la coloscopie conventionnelle dans le diagnostic et le d6pistage du cancer colorectal (CCR) au stade pr6coce.
Les progrbs accomplis en imagerie endoscopique imposent h l'op6rateur deux exigences : l'habilet6 ~ rep6rer et reconnaitre les 16sions et la capacit6 d ' e n interpr6ter la nature histologique /t l'aide d ' u n coloscope h haute r6solution muni d'un 6quipement laser confocal.
Pour une revue de formation continue en endoscopie, cet enjeu suppose une r6forme destin6e h concilier des images endoscopiques peu famili6res et des connaissances histo-pathologiques adapt6es a une reconstitution mentale tridimensionnelle des 16sions. I1 sera n6cessaire de mettre en ceuvre un apprentissage plus pouss6 des images histologiques, condition d'un diagnostic pr6dictif exact et coh6rent.
A l'6vidence, chacun voit avec les yeux et regarde avec son cerveau. Mais la comp6tence ne s'arr~te pas h la pr6cision du regard, elle doit beaucoup au souvenir des acquis. Rivarol au X V I I I e si~cle avait raison de dire : << Quand on change de place les meubles dans la chambre d'un aveugle, il doit se faire une nouvelle m6moire ,~.

Nous signalons/i ce propos et pour ceux que cela int6resse que l ' E u r o p e a n Cancer O r g a n i z a t i o n (ECP) organisera h Liege (Belgique) en 2006, en collaboration avec le Professeur E. Louis, un w o r k s h o p consacr6 l'application de la colo-micro-endoscopie et de ses d6veloppements futurs (g6n6tique, biomol6culaire) dans les 6tudes des facteurs environnementaux modulateurs du CCR.

T h e present issue o f Acta Endoscopica p r o g r a m m e d by Professor R. Kiesslich questions the possibilities and limits o f conventional colonoscopy in the diagnosis and screening o f early colorectal cancer (CRC).
The progress o f endoscopic imaging imposes to the operator two requirements: a capacity to locate and recognize such lesions and the ability to identify its histological nature via imaging f r o m a confocal laser endoscope.
In a review devoted to training in endoscopy such a challenge supposes a revisited training including a re-lecture o f the images and a p e r f o r m i n g histopathological knowledge opened to a mental tri-dimensional reconstruction o f the lesion. This new way o f training includes a closer collaboration with the pathologist, the basic condition o f a safe and predictive diagnosis.
Surely, everybody sees with the eyes and considers with his brain. But the competence goes over and requires keeping in mind the past experience. Rivarol in the 18th century said "When you move the furniture in a blind's room, he has to acquire a new memory".
We are very grateful to Prof. R. Kiesslich f o r its collaboration in the promotion o f the colonoscopy o f the future.
We inform our readers that the European Cancer Prevention Organisation (ECP), in collaboration with Professor E. Louis, will organize in 2006 in Liege (Belgium) a workshop devoted to the applications o f the new micro colonoscopy to the environmental m o d u l a t o r factors o f C R C with special attention to its further developments (genetics and bio molecular).
