Story of Teddy.

Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt was the president of the United States of America.

He liked to hunt.

In November 1902, he went hunting.

There weren’t any bears.

His friends tied a small bear to a tree, but Teddy Roosevelt said No.

The newspaper drew a picture.

Morris and Rose Mitchum made toys in New York.

In 1902 they had an idea.

They made the first bear and its name was Teddy, named after the President. All the boys and girls in the world liked the teddy bear.

So, in 2002, Teddy was 100 years old.
