The eighth session of the Commission decided to recomm~nd a draft resolution for action by the Economic and Social Council.

This

draft

resolution was contained in Part

rv

of the Commission's annual report (E/4354) and was presented to the Council at its forty-third session.

The Council adopted the above-mentioned draft resolution on 21 JuIYI 1967. 'The t~xt of this resolut~ori1248(XLIII) ~s reproduced below;

In accordance with paragraph 5 of the resolution 1066 (XXXIX) , the Executive Secretary submitted a report

(E/4497) to the Council at its forty-fifth session.

The Council consequently adopted resolution 1343(XLV), which is reproduced below:

"1343(XLV). Annual report of the Economic Commission for Africa

The Economic and So~ial Council'

I

1. Takes note of the annual report of the Economic Commission for Africa for the period 26 February 1967 to 29 February 1968;

2. Endorses the programme of work'and priorities contained in the report;

3. !EE!~,~ the amendment to the terms of reference and to the rules of procedure of the Economio Commission for Africa, as con~ained in the note by the Executive Secretary in paragraphs 231-235 of the annual report.
