AFR/RC8/R2: 1957-1958 The Regional Committee,

Having noted the most complete report presented by the Regional Director for the period from 1 July 1957 to 30 June 1958,

Having noted the verbal report and the additional detailed explanations provided by the Regional Director,

1. NOTES with satisfaction the numerous and effective activities performed by the Regional Office and its Director in 1957;

2. WELCOMES the most encouraging results obtained within the framework of the projects conducted under the auspices of WHO within each country or between several countries;

3. EXPRESSES the hope that a n ever closer co-ordination be established between Member States not only in the field of research or training, but also in the fight against endemic or epidemic diseases and in the improvement of living conditions of the populations;

4. CONGRATULATES Dr Cambournac, Regional Director, for the excellent work accomplished and the quality of information provided to the Member States;

5. APPROVES without reserve the annual report submitted to the Regional Committee at its eighth session.
