Article 86

Information from the register of convictions

The courts and procurators' offices of the Contracting Parties shall supply each other free of charge, on direct application, with information from the re-gister of convictions.

PART III

FINAL PROVISIONS Article 87

This Treaty shall be ratified. The instruments of ratification shall be exchanged at Budapest as soon as possible.

Article 88

This Treaty shall enter into force thirty days after the exchange of the instruments of ratification and shall remain in force for a term of five years from the date of entry into force. Unless one of the Contracting Parties denoun-ces the Treaty not later than six months before the expiry of such term, it shall be extended in force for successive terms of five years, subject to the specified time-limit for denunciation.

This Treaty is done in duplicate in the Hungarian and German languages.

Both texts are equally authentic.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the plenipotentiaries of the two Contracting Parties have signed this Treaty and have thereto affixed their seals.

Les tribunaux et parquets g~n6raux des Parties contractantes se communi-queront directement, sur demande et sans frais, des renseignements tir6s des sommiers judiciaires.

TITRE III

DISPOSITIONS FINALES Article 87

Le present Trait6 sera ratifi6. Les instruments de ratification seront 6chang~s A Budapest aussit~t que faire se pourra.

Article 88

Le pr6sent Trait6 entrera en vigueur trente jours apr~s 1'6change des instruments de ratification et demeurera en vigueur pendant cinq ans t compter de cette date. II sera reconduit tacitement de cinq en cinq ans, t moins que l'une des Parties contractantes ne le d~nonce six mois au moins avant l'expiration de toute priode quinquennale.

Le present Trait6 est &abli en double exemplaire, r~dig6 chacun en hongrois et en allemand, les deux textes faisant 6galement foi.

EN FOI DE QUOI les plnipotentiaires des deux Parties contractantes ont sign6 le present Trait6 et y ont appos6 leur sceau.

FINALPROTOCOOL TO THE TREATY' BETWEEN THE HUNGARIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC AND THE GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPU-BLIC CONCERNING LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CIVIL, FAMILY AND CRIMINAL CASES

The plenipotentiaries of the Hungarian People's Republic and the German Democratic Republic, on signing this Treaty,' declare that they agree as follows

I

All questions relating to the interpretation of this Treaty, including those arising as a result of changes in the legislation of the Contracting Parties, shall be settled by the Ministers for Justice.

II

The juxtaposition of expressions used in this Treaty with other expressions in parentheses indicates that the legal concepts or procedures in question cor-respond to each other under the laws of the Contracting Parties.

III

In order to facilitate mutual legal assistance, the Contracting Parties shall exchange lists of courts, procurators' offices and State notaries' offices and shall inform each other annually of any changes therein.

IV

The Contracting Parties agree that the expression " civil cases " shall be deemed to include disputes brought before labour courts, and that the labour courts of the German Democratic Republic shall be treated as courts within the meaning of article 2.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the plenipotentiaries have signed this Final Protocol, which constitutes an integral part of the aforementioned Treaty.

PROTOCOLE FINAL AU TRAITE11 ENTRE LA REPUBLIQUE POPU-LAIRE HONGROISE ET LA RE PUBLIQUE DRiMOCRATIQUE ALLEMANDE CONCERNANT LES RELATIONS JURIDIQUES EN MATItRE CIVILE, FAMILIALE ET PRNALE

Au moment de signer le Trait6, les pl6nipotentiaires de la R6publique populaire hongroise et de la R6publique d~mocratique allemande d~clarent qu'ils conviennent de ce qui suit:

Les questions relatives A l'interpr6tation du TraitOl, notamment celles que poseront les modifications apport6es A la 16gislation des Parties contractantes, seront r~gl~es par voie de consultations entre les Ministres de la justice des deux Parties.

Les expressions qui, dans le Trait6, sont mentionn6es entre parentheses la suite d'autres expressions renvoient h des notions ou institutions correspon-dantes du syst~me juridique de l'une ou l'autre des Parties contractantes.

III

Afin de faciliter l'assistance juridique, les Parties contractantes se communi-queront la liste de leurs tribunaux, parquets et services notariaux officiels; elles se notifieront chaque ann6e les modifications apport~es A ces listes.

IV

Les Parties contractantes conviennent que l'expression ((en mati6re civile) sera interprte comme visant 6galement les conflits du travail et que les tribu-naux du travail de la R~publique d~mocratique allemande seront assimil6s aux tribunaux vis6s A l'article 2 du Trait6.

EN FOI DE QUOI les pl6nipotentiaires ont sign6 le pr6sent Protocole final, qui fait partie int~grante du Trait6 susmentionn6.
