Considering that brucellosis i s a disease that is very prevalent and i s increasing in many parts of the world} that i t i s the cause of great economic loss and of great suffering in such regions; that this subject was not included in the proposed agenda of the Interim Commission;

It i s therefore proposed that the Committee on Programme adopt the following resolution:

"A World Brucellosis Centre should b e set up by WHO in a scientific institute already engaged in research on brucellosis, with the following terms of reference:

a0 To engage in research on diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of brucellosis i n human beings and live-stock;

b . To gather and disseminate world-wide information on the above points among scientists engaged in research on brucellosis".
