COMMITTEE ON ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE
1 . The United Nations have requested that the "World Health Assembly give consideration to the adoption of a resolution indicating its policies regarding coordination,
2, Furthermore, the Committee on Administration and Finance has considered the recommendations of the United Nations General Assembly contained on pages 40-41 of Official Record WHO, 10, having to do with the general subject of
administrative and financial relations between the United Nations and specialized agencies,,
p. Also; in adopting the first report of the Comrdttee on Relations (item 1 2 , 3 , 3 , 2 „ l ) on 10 July, the Assembly agreed that the Director-General be instructed to work in full cooperation with the Coordination Committee of the Director- General of the United Nations,,
4. In order fully to clarify and implement its policies, i t is suggested that the following resolution be considered:
"THE WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY, RESOLVES THAT,
1) The Director-General shall transmit the summaries
of budgets of WHO for 1949 arid for each year thereafter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations at
the earliest possible date, previous to the next
session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, in order that the Secretary-General may incorporate these budget summaries as information annexes in his annual budget estimates for transmittal to the General Assembly»
2) The Director-General shall participate in meetings of the Coordination Committee of the United Nations and the specialized agencies with a view to
promoting the development of similar- budgetary,
administrative and financial practices in the United.
Nations and.the specialized agencies, providing that due recognition be given in all instances to the problem inherent in the individual requirements of each of the agencies concerned",
