On 9.15 MHz solenoid head coil 26 cm ID

This technical report includes: description of the coil (page 2) schematics of the coil (Fig. 1) photo of the coil (Fig. 2)
The solenoid volume coil is made of ¼” copper pipe. Four concentric rings (27 cm diameter) are connected in series to provide a solenoid structure. Capacitive matching networks are employed to connect resonator with an active T/R switch positioned inside the coil. Inner diameter of the solenoid resonator is 260 mm, outer diameter – 280 mm, total length – 225 mm. Empty solenoid Q is about 900. When loaded with a volunteer heads solenoid coil exhibits reduction in Q value down to 200.
.Active switching is provided through DC line. DC voltage of 2.5 V and current of 0.4 A are required to switch the coil from Rx mode into Tx mode. RF isolation values between Rx and Tx ports are 42 dB in Rx mode and 55 dB in Tx mode.
