OF FOX’ S H - FUNCTION
Abstract : In this paper, we
present
aspecial
class of two-dimensionalExponential-
Bessel series of Fox ’ s H-function [
2 j ,
and present one two-dimensional series of this class. The
following
formulae arerequired
in theproof:
The
integral
[ 1,p.46 , ( 1 ) ] :
where
The
integral [ 4,
p.94,
(2.2) ] ;The
orthogonality property
of the Bessel functions [3,
p.291,
(6)]:2. TWO -DIMENSIONAL EXPONENTIAL-BESSEL SERIES. The two-dimensional
Exponential-Bessel
series to be established isvalid under the conditions of
( 1.1 ). ,
( 1.2) and ( 1.3) .Proof. Let
Equation
(2.2) isvalid,
since f (x,y)
is continuous and bounded variation in theregion 0xII, oyoo.
Multiplying
both sides of (2.2)by
y + 2v + 1(y)
andintegrating
with respectto y from 0 to 00 , then
using
(1.2) and (1.3). Nowmultiplying
both sides of theresulting expression by
e - 2 i U x andintegrating
with respect to x from 0 toII,
thenusing
( 1.1 )and the
orthogonality property
ofexponential functions,
we obtain the value of C r, S .Substituting
this value ofC r, s in (2.2),
theexpansion
(2.1 y is obtained.Note : On
applying
the sameprocedure
asabove,
we can establish three other forms of two-dimensionalexpansions
of this class with thehelp
of alternative forms of (1.1) and (1.2).Since on
specializing
theparameters
Fox’s H-functionyields
almost allspecial
functions
appearing
inapplied
mathematics andphysical
sciences.Therefore,
the resultpresented
in this paper is of ageneral
character and hence may encompass several casesof interest.
