5. Photoréduction sur TiO 2
5.2 Résultats spectroscopiques et proposition de mécanisme
Les analyses spectroscopiques ont montrées qu’un phénomène de photo-réduction de SeO4
2-en HSeO3- intervenait sous rayonnement solaire et sous faisceau laser à 633 nm. Un travail de sorption à l’abri complet de la lumière permet de s’affranchir de cette photoréduction.
Ce processus de photoréduction est totalement inattendu compte-tenu du fait que le rutile est considéré comme moins actif photocatalytiquement que la forme anatase ou qu’un mélange rutile/anatase de type P25 Degussa. De plus compte tenu du gap de bande du rutile qui est égal à environ 3 eV, la création de paires électron-trou ne devrait théoriquement ne pas avoir lieu dans le domaine visible. Cependant, il semble que localement le gap de surface du rutile soit inférieur au gap de volume, ce qui permet la photoréduction dans le domaine du visible. Les réactions observées à la surface du dioxyde de titane pourraient être les suivantes : Pour la réduction :
SeO42- +2 e- + 3 H3O+ HSeO3- + 4 H2O Pour l’oxydation :
L’oxydation ayant lieu de manière concomitante concerne soit la matière organique adsorbée soit, plus probablement, l’oxydation de l’eau selon la réaction :
Cette hypothèse sur l’espèce réduite va dans le sens de la remontée de pH de la solution observé lors des expériences de sorption du Se(VI) en présence de lumière.
La littérature sur les modifications de largeurs de bandes interdites à la surface de matériaux semi-conducteurs est malheureusement très limitée et ces observations ouvrent un domaine de recherche vaste et passionnant.

Etude par fluorescence en champ proche
d’un verre aluminate dopé Europium(III)
Ce chapitre présente des travaux prospectifs proposant une amélioration du montage champ proche développé au laboratoire. Originairement destiné à réaliser des spectres Raman en champ proche, cette étude explore la possibilité de réalisé des spectres de fluorescence ainsi que des mesures de cinétiques de fluorescence et ceci avec la même base expérimentale. L’échantillon analysé est un verre aluminate servant de matrice de référence. En effet, il est non radiatif et reproduit précisément le comportement et la structure du verre R7T7 utilisé en France pour le stockage et le confinement des déchets nucléaires (Thévenet et al. 2005b). Dans l’optique d’un stockage de ces verres en couches géologiques profondes, une évaluation précise du comportement physico-chimique de la surface de ces matériaux est primordiale. L’Europium sert de sonde de fluorescence non radiative pour l’environnement chimique de surface et il est également un bon modèle pour les cations lanthanides radiatifs.
