RÉSUMÉ
La
présente
étude a pour but d’attirer l’attention deschercheurs,
techniciens et éleveurssur l’importance
de larégulation
de latempérature
des locaux de sevragetrès précoce (io-i jours)
du
porcelet.
L’importance
despertes thermiques
et leur nature estpréalablement rappelée : pertes
parévaporation
etpertes thermiques
par chaleur sensible(conduction,
convection etradiation).
Ces
pertes
varient defaçon
considérable suivait latempérature
ambiante du milieu.Les
principales étapes expérimentales
concernent ladescription
de :-
l’aménagement
d’un local de constructionlégère
pour 180porcelets placés
en batterie àfond
grillagé ( 3 étages
de 6cages) ;
le coefficient d’isolationthermique
calculé est de K : 0,80.- la
réalisation ;
pont thermique
afin d’obtenir unetempé-
rature de
paroi
aussi voisine quepossible
de latempérature
de l’air ambiant.Deux sources
d’énergie
sont utilisées pour lechauffage :
l’électricité et le gaz propane. Deux bâtiments sont chauffésélectriquement
à l’aide d’une dallechauffante,
soit d’unpoêle
à accu-mulation
( 7 , 5
ou 8kilowatts/heure)
defaçon
à stockerl’énergie électrique pendant
la nuit en rai-son du faible
prix
du courantélectrique ;
des résistancesd’appoint
commutablesautomatique-
pas 20C engénéral ;
demême,
desmesures
plus précises
montrentqu’il
n’existe pas degradient
vertical ni horizontal pour latempérature
ambiante(fig.
5 et6). L’importance
d’unréglage judicieux
des thermostats et des sondes estsoulignée (fig.
6b).
Enfin,
un essai de mesure desquantités d’énergie
consommées suivant la tranche horaire définie a étéentreprise
pour un seul bâtiment. Pour le local abritant 180porcelets,
ladépense
d’électricité varie de i à 3
( 7 8
contre 193 thermies parjour)
parporcelet)
etpermettront
unecomparaison objective
de deux sources différentes.SUMMARY
ROLE OF ENVIRONMENT
(TEMPARATURE)
IN PIGLET BREEDINGII. -
CONCEPTION,
REALIZATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONING OF HOUSES FOR VERY EARLY WEANED PIGLETSThe aim of the
present study
is to draw the attention ofscientists,
technical assistants and breeders on theimportant
role oftemperature regulation
inpiggeries
for veryearly
weanedpiglets (at
10-12days).
Previously,
themagnitude
of the different kinds of heat losses have been recalled : lossesby evaporation
and thermic lossesby
sensitive heat(conduction, connection, radiation).
Theselosses
considerably
varyaccording
to environmentaltemperatures.
The main
topics
of theexperiment
were thefollowing :
-
Preparation
of alight-builded
construction for 180piglets placed
in batteries with wire-floor( 3
tiers with 6 cageseach).
The calculated thermic isolation coefficient was : 0.80.- Realization : go
piglets placed
in batteries( 3
tiers with 3 cageseach)
in a house cons-tructed with
light
modern materials(fibrocement
andexpanded polysterene
on woodenframe),
K coefficient about
o.6 5 .
The latter was constructed without thermal break so as to obtain a well
temperature
as closeas
possible
to the roomtemperature.
Two sources of energy were used for
heating,
i. e.electricity
and propane gas. Twopig
houseswere heated
electrically
eitherby
means of a heatedfloorstone,
or a heatstoring
stove( 7 . 5
or8
kilowatts/hour)
connectedduring
thenight
because of the lowprice
of electric energy : auto- maticalswitching
of additional resistances ensured exact heatregulation.
One of the
piggeries
was heatedby
adiscontinuously
connected gasgenerators
of 29therms.The measurements concerned control of the room
temperature adjusted
between2 6- 27° C.
The room
temperature generally
did notdepend
on the outdoortemperature, except
for very hotperiods.
Generally,
variation of thetemperature
at agiven point
did not exceed2 0 C ;
likewise moreaccurate measurements showed that there was no vertical or horizontal
gradient
for the roomtemperature (fig.
5 and6).
Theimportance
of ajudicious adjusting
of thermostates and sounds has beenemphasized (fig.
6b).
Finally,
measurement of the amounts of energy consumedduring
agiven
space of timewas
only attempted
in one of thepiggeries.
In thepig
house where 180piglets
werepenned,
the energy
expenditure
varied from I to 3( 7 8
versus 193 therms perday)
between winter andsummer. The effect of the thermic utilization coefficient on the energy
expenditure
has beenemphasized.
Approximate cost-price
of theheating
can be estimatedaccording
to measurements of theconsumption
per definite space of time. Atpresent,
other measurements in progress aregoing
to
complete
theseprimary
informations on energyexpenditures expressed
in therms perpiggery (or
perpiglet)
and on this basis anobjective comparison
of two different sources of energy will bepossible.

RÉSUMÉ
Une
comparaison
dereproduction
des truies en cequi
concernela réussite des saillies et l’écart
sevrage-saillie
fécondante(respectivement
10, 14,5 et 15,2jours).
Le raccourcissement de la durée de lactation
augmente
bien sûr le nombre deporcelets produits
par an, 22,7,21 ,8
et 20porcelets
pourrespectivement
EARLY WEANING : RESULTS IN AN EXPERIMENTAL HERD
A
comparison
betweenweaning
at 17, 22 and 35days
shows that reduction of the lac- tationperiod
does not alterreproduction performances
of the sows withregard
tofertility
andtime interval between
weaning
andfertilizing
insemination(respectively
10days,
iq,5days
and rg,2
days).
Obviously,
reduction of the lactationperiod
increases the number ofpiglets produced
per year,
22,!-2i,8
and 20piglets
when lactation lasted 17,22 and 35days respectively.
