DRAFT RESOLUTION Ш О Р О Э Ю BY THE UNITED STATES DELEGATION
The following recommended draft resolution is proposed by the United States delegation:
WHEREAS the World Health Organization, in order to perform its statutory functions "to promote maternal and child health and welfare and foster the ability to live harmoniously in a changing total environment" should take advantage of the advice of experts in the field of maternal and child health from various parts of the world}
The First World Health Assembly Resolves
(1) That the Executive Board Ъе instructed to establish dur- ing its first session an expert committee to draw up a programme of maternal and child health for the World Health Organisation, to undertake due consultations with the United Nations and its specialised agencies, and to act as an advisory board to the World Health Organisation;
(2) That the World Health Organization establish within its Secretariat a maternal and child health section.
