Study of National Health-Services

Paper submitted by the Delegation of Czechoslovakia

2. Some countries in the world have had a state medical service for many years - others have had nation-wide health-insurance. Both

systems have not only a great social value, but they have certainly improved the health of the population and have given better preventive and curative conditions. We would propose the setting up of a committee to study the precise influence of national health-services and health- insurance on the health of the population and the prevention of disease,

so as to be able to recommend the most suitable way of nation-wide health- services for countries which have not yet built up their own services.
