The Economic Ccmmissicn for Africa.

Having discussed document E/CN.14/72 on the Impaot of Western European Economic Integration on African Economies;

Recognizing the importance of promoting intra-African trade and economic cooperation;

Reealling its resolution of 8(11) regarding the promoting of intra-African trade at its second sossion;

Notine with satisfaction the success achioved by tho Secretariat of the Commission in studying vital issuos relatod to African trade;

Raalizing tho oxtromc impcrtance of tho various monetary zonos and systems in Africa in rolation to intra-Afrioan trado;

1. Requests tho Exeoutivo Secretary to oarry out a thorough appraisal and analysis of the various monetary systems usod in Africa with roferenoo to thoir impaot on intra-African trado in partioular and on probloms of Afrioan oconomio devolopment in general and to submit the above-mentioned

study at tho noxt session of the Commission;

2. Invites all Mombor governments te oo-operato fully with the Exooutive Seoretary in oarrying out tho provisions of this resolution.
