-INTVN.REQD. } .PERM.ERROR -PURGE RC=rc -LOST I/O

Explanation: The indicated JES3 console has been made inactive for one of the following reasons:

INTVN.REQD.

the console is not in ready status (intervention required) PERM. ERROR

a permanent I/O error was detected on the console PURGE RC=rc

an error was detected while attempting to halt I/O at a 2740 console; the return code from the PURGE SVC is given.

LOST I/O

a timeout was detected on the console

System Action: An attempt is made to switch the console to an alternate (except when intervention is required).

Operator Response: For INTVN. REQD., correct the not-ready condition. This message remains in the outstanding action message queue until the condition is satisfied.

Chapter 14. Console Service Messages

IAT7115 NEW ASSOC ON mpname ddd(ID)= con Explanation: A switch of the master console occurred on the specified system. The address of the new MCS master consoie is given as ddd, followed by the MCS 10 number for that console.

The name of the JES3 console on the global processor which is associated with the new MCS master console on the local processor is given as con. This message appears only if a JES3 console is associated with the active MCS master console.

System Action: When an old MCS master console switches to a new one, the system forms a new console association with the JES3 consoles. A JES3 console associated with the old master then is reassociated with the new one.

Operator Response: None.

IAT7120 I/O ERROR ON con STATUS-stat SENSE-sens OP-opr

Explanation: An I/O error was detected on the indicated JES3 console. The status information from the channel status word, the sense information from the I/O block, and the operation code of the failing channel command are given.

Note: If the status and sense are zero, an I/O error is simulated because a missing interrupt has been detected. The thirty second timer has expired for this console, I/O is pending, and no response from the device has been received. Message IA T711 0 is issued to indicate lost I/O. The console is then switched.

System Action: Not applicable.

Operator Response: Keep the error log for your IBM service representative.

Module: IATCNSL

IAT7121 NO PATHS AVAILABLE FOR CON

Explanation: JES3 issued an instruction to start I/O for console con. Condition code 3 was returned indicating that no paths are available to the specified console.

System Action: Processing continues with the console inoperative.

Operator Response: Keep the error log and call your IBM service representative.

Module: IATCNSL

IAT7125 ONE OR MORE CONSOLE MESSAGES LOST DUE TO I/O ERROR

Explanation: An error return has occurred from an A WRITE or an ADEBLOCK macro instruction.

System Action: Normal processing continues.

Operator Response: Not applicable.

the command was received before JES3 initialization was complete. console was not previously switched.

con NOT FOUND maximum allowable buffer depth would be exceeded.

PREP NOT IN PROGRESS the CONSOLE initialization statement.

CONSOLE NOT ALLOCATED dynamic deviCe reconfiguration (DDR) was active.

When DDR is active, you cannot terminate JES3 without impacting MVS as well.

System Action: The command is ignored.

Operator Response: Correct the error, and reissue the command.

IAT7133 NETWORKING CONSOLE NOT DEFINED IN INIT DECK

Explanation: This message is issued in response to a

*CALL,NJECONS command. A CONSOLE initialization statement for a networking console was not included in the initialization stream.

System Action: Command processing terminates. JES3 networking console support is not active.

Operator Response: Notify the system programmer.

Programmer Response: To activate networking console support, add a CONSOLE statement to the initialization stream and restart JES3 with a warm start.

Module: IA TCNNJ

IAT7140 con SWITCHED TO con (,con PREV SWITCHED) Explanation: The operator issued a command either to transfer the assignment of one console to another or to restore a console to its original assignment. If the console to which the operator is switching has itself been switched to another console, the switch takes place to that other console. In that case the message indicates both the originally requested console and the receiving console. This message may also result from an internal console switch, due to a permanent error on a console, or messages becoming queued to maximum depth with the console not ready.

System Action: Output for the switched console is rerouted to the new destination.

Operator Response: None.

Module: IATCNIN, IATYCNC

IAT7142 NO PATH .ACTIVE TO nodename

Explanation: JES3 atte~pted to send a message to the specified node but an active pat~ to the node does not exist.

System Action: The message is lost.

Operator Response: If the message was entered at a terminal in your installation, reenter the *MESSAGE command with the correct destination node.

Module: IATCNNJ

IAT7143 *****text***** - INVALID COMMAND Explanation: The text specified in the message is an invalid command for the local JES3 node.

System Action: Processing continues.

Operator Response: None.

Module: IA TCNNJ

IAT7144 MESSAGE FOR nodename DISREGARDED Explanation: The NJECONS DSP could not store-and-forward a message to the indicated node because no path is available.

System Action: JES3 disregards the message.

Operator Response: None.

Module: IATCNNJ IAT7150 con xxx

Explanation: A message was sent to this console from another console in the system via the *MESSAGE command. The sending console's name (con) precedes the message text (xxx).

System Action: Not applicable.

Operator Response: None.

Module: IATCNIN, IATYCNC

IAT7160 EMERGENCY CONSOLE SWITCH ATTEMPT FAILED FOR con

Explanation: An attempt was made to switch a console to an alternate console because of permanent error or because the console was not ready and the depth was exceeded. The attempt failed.

System Action: Further I/O activity for the failing console is inhibited.

Operator Response: Check the status of the JES3 consoles via the *1,0 command, and switch to a suitable alternate console.

Module: IATYCNC, IATCNIN

IAT7170 xxx REQUEST ENQUEUED

Explanation: The cited input message was accepted by the function to which it was sent. However, the function had not completed processing a prior message and requested that the current input message be enqueued. Consequently, there may be a delay before the request is acted upon.

System Action: The command is queued for later processing by the DSP.

Operator Response: None.

Module: IATCNIN, IATYCNC

IAT7180 con tENABLE

I

DISABLEJ COMPLETED

Explanation: This message indicates the successful completion of an operator-initiated *ENABLE or *DISABLE command.

System Action: The console is made available to MVS as an MCS console and is no longer under the control to JES3 (*DISABLE); or the console is taken from MVS and allocated for use as a JES3 console (*ENABLE).

Operator Response: None.

Module: IATCNIN, IATYCNC

IAT7190 con NOT READY - MESSAGES QUEUED TO DEPTH

Explanation: The indicated console is not in ready status, and message buffers have been queued to the maximum depth.

System Action: An attempt is made to switch the console to an alternate.

Operator Response: Make the console ready and reinstate its destinations via the *SWITCH command.

Module: IATYCNC, IATCNSL

IAT7195 DLOG DISABLED -{

MLOG IS con }

NO HARD COpy MLOG

Explanation: The JES3 disk log facility is no longer operative. If a hard-copy MLOG console is available it is activated as indicated; otherwise, the message indicates that there is no hard-copy MLOG. In this case, the message is placed in the operator action message queue for subsequent retrieval via the

*I,R command.

System Action: The system attempts to activate a hard-copy console as MLOG.

Operator Response: This message is followed by an MVS message explaining the nature of the failure. After correcting the problem, restart the system log by entering a WRITELOG START command, followed by an *F,O,D=ON command. If the disk log cannot be restarted, ensure that a hard-copy MLOG console is available.
