2. RESULTS 1 F INDINGS

4.2 CONCLUSION ET SUGGESTIONS POUR LES RECHERCHES FUTURES

Cette recherche est, à notre connaissance, la première ayant porté exclusivement sur l’APM des étudiants de niveau postsecondaire en interprétation jazz. Les résultats suggèrent que les étudiants en interprétation jazz rapportent vivre un niveau important d’APM et d’anxiété trait. Cette recherche représente un premier pas vers une

compréhension plus exhaustive du phénomène de l’APM. En effet, les étudiants en interprétation jazz de même que les musiciens amateurs et professionnels de jazz représentent une proportion significative de l’ensemble des musiciens qu’il serait

important de considérer dans l’étude de l’APM. Par conséquent, davantage de recherches devront investiguer l’APM des étudiants en interprétation jazz, en prenant entre autres un plus grand échantillon, afin de vérifier nos résultats ainsi qu’à les rendre plus

généralisables. Également, des études pourraient aborder l’influence de l’APM sur l’engagement des étudiants en interprétation jazz envers leurs programmes d’études. Notons aussi que des recherches avec des mesures plus neutres telles que des mesures comportementales et physiologiques sont à suggérer. Finalement, davantage de recherches devront se poser sur le support pouvant être offert à des étudiants en interprétation jazz de niveau postsecondaire afin de mieux faire face à l’APM.

Étant donné que cette étude a comparé l’APM des étudiants par rapport à leurs contextes de performance musicale les plus communs, des recherches futures pourraient comparer des étudiants en interprétation jazz dans plusieurs contextes afin de mieux évaluer l’impact de ceux-ci sur l’APM. En effet, il serait pertinent d’obtenir ces

informations afin de mieux comprendre l’influence du contexte de performance musicale sur les étudiants en interprétation jazz ainsi que de comparer ces résultats avec ceux obtenus dans la littérature basée sur des étudiants en musique classique.

La section des analyses supplémentaires portant sur les expériences de performance musicale et l’APM est une ébauche sur le sujet. En effet, même si les résultats statistiques ne sont pas significatifs, les résultats qualitatifs demandent que l’on s’y attarde davantage afin de mieux comprendre l’influence des expériences de

performance musicales positives et significatives peuvent agir comme facteur de protection envers l’APM devra être évaluée davantage.

En conclusion, ce mémoire représente un point de départ envers une meilleure compréhension de l’APM chez les étudiants en interprétation jazz, ses liens avec

l’anxiété trait, le contexte de performance musicale commun ainsi que les expériences de performance musicales. Les résultats obtenus suscitent plusieurs questions qui ont été énumérées précédemment. En effet, la réponse à ces questions mènera non seulement à une meilleure compréhension de l’APM chez les étudiants en interprétation jazz, mais plus largement, à une meilleure compréhension du phénomène de l’APM chez tous les musiciens. Ultimement, ces recherches devront servir de base dans l’établissement de mesures qui auront pour objet de mieux venir en aide aux musiciens d’aujourd’hui et de demain.
