Under the terms of Article 7, paragraph of the Regulations for that Committee.

The Director-General invites special attention to the following aspects of that report :

(a) The Committee, in considering ths Eleventh Report of the Expert

Committee on Insecticides, recommends that the World Health Assembly request the Director-General :

their international ports and airports provide pure water of the quality described in the WHO publication International Standards for Drinking Water, especially as concerns bacteriological requirements (section 2) and also as regards chemical and physical requirements (sections 3.1, ;5.2。1 and 3.2。2).

The Committee further requests the Director-General to study the question of provision of pure water on board ships and aircraft (paragraph ;50)。

(d) The Committee considered, whether paragraph 3- Ю proposed for inclusion in a revised Annex 9 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation might constitute a limitation on the authority for "medical examination" of persons arriving by air and therefore be in conflict with the provisions of the

International Sanitary Regulations. The Committee was of the opinion that the proposed paragraph 3.10 was not in conflict with the provisions of the Regulations (paragraph 39).

(e) The Committee considered a suggestion that international standards of

sanitary ship construction and operation be developed. The Committee recommend?

that the Director-General study the question of developing recommendations for sanitary construction and operation of ships (paragraph 44).

(f) The Committee recalled that in its fourth report it requested the Dire сtor-General to undertake or assist studies on cholera vaccine relating to standardization of this vaccine and its limits of protection. The Committee noted some progress of research on cholera vaccine under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research and the report of the WHO Study Group on Cholera Vaccine. The Committee requests the Director-General to encourage more vigorous research on cholera vaccine at suitable institutes with a view to obtaining the necessary results at an early date (paragraph 48).

(g) The Committee requested the Director-General to study the question of redelineation of the yellow-fever endemic zone (paragraph 52)。
