AFR/RC19/R4: 1971

The Regional Committee,

Having considered in detail the proposed programme and budget estimates for 1971;1 Considering that, in general, the World health Organization is making every effort necessary to develop the health infrastructure in the African Region with a view to adequately promoting community health among the population;

Considering that explanations which the Regional Director ha kindly given to all the representatives of the Member States attending the session have fully satisfied them;

Considering that the participants in the Nineteenth session of the Regional Committee have expressed their unanimous satisfaction with the fine work unfailingly accomplished by Dr Alfred Quenum and his team,

1. NOTES with satisfaction the projects expected to be financed under the United Nations Development Programme and URGES very strongly that the inter-country projects be fully implemented, and

2. APPROVES the regular programme and budget estimates for 1971 and RECOMMENDS to the Director-General their incorporation in the annual budget estimates of the World Health Organization.
