Themat i c School on Oper ads

The notion ofoperad was introduced to encode algebraic operations.This theory arose in the 70's at the University ofChicago where itwas created in orderto recognize iterated loop spaces in algebraic topology.Since the early 90's,operads have encoun- tered a renaissance.Stillthen,they have been succes- sfully used in many fields ofmathematics like alge- braic topology,differentialgeometry,universal algebra,algebraic combinatorics,category theory, mathematicalphysics and computerscience.

The purpose ofthis thematic schoolis to provide mini-courses on operads with the applications in these fields.
