1. At its twenty-first session the Economic and Social Council, in concluding the consideration of the report of the United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Far East, adopted a resolution on the subject of international co-operation on cartography

Resolution 600 {XRXjJ. In this Resolution the Council, recognizing

"the importance of accurate and reliable oartographic information, more especially in connexion with economic development projects", recommended, inter alia* "that those regional economic commissions which think it desirable consider the question of establishing cartographic committees for the purpose of periodic consultation among their members",

2. The Economic Commission for Africa, in view of the calling of the Regional Cartographic Conference for Africa, has not yet considered the question.
