BARLOUTAUD D . P ~ . P . E , , CEN-saclayA t t h i s Conference, f o u r p a r a l l e l s e s s i o n s have been devoted t o Hadron Spectroscopy. A s a m a t t e r of f a c t , t h e l i m i t s of t h i s t o p i c a r e not w e l l defined.
C l e a r l y t h e baryon and meson resonances r e s u l t s ob- t a i n e d i n f o r m a t i o n and production experiments cons- t i t u t e a p a r t of Hadron Spectroscopy ; f u r t h e r m o r e i t seems r e a s o n a b l e t h a t t h e meson o r baryon d i f f r a c - t i v e enhancements which a r e more and more b e l i e v e d now t o be non r e s o n a n t should a l s o be d i s c u s s e d i n t h i s s e s s i o n . However i t i s almost impossible t o se- p a r a t e t h e s t u d y of t h e n a t u r e and s p i n p a r i t y pro- p e r t i e s of t h e s e o b j e c t s from t h e s t u d y of t h e i r pro- d u c t i o n mechanism ; a l a r g e o v e r l a p i s t h e r e f o r e un- a v o i d a b l e w i t h t h e s e s s i o n 8 where t h e s e mechanisms a r e d i s c u s s e d . I n t h e same way, t h e mini-rapport of D r . Faiman ( s e s s i o n 6), where t h e new t h e o r e t i c a l i d e a concerning t h e baryon c l a s s i f i c a t i o n a r e presen- t e d i s obviously s t r o n g l y connected w i t h Hadron Spec- t r o s c o p y . F i n a l l y , I would l i k e t o a p o l o g i z e f o r t h e numerous i n t e r e s t i n g t h e o r e t i c a l papers ( p a p e r s n o 211, 322, 323, 32, 8 9 , 233, 234, 373) which a l s o d e a l w i t h t h i s s e s s i o n and have n o t been r e p o r t e d t h e r e i n by l a c k of s p a c e , and I suggest t h a t t h e s p e c i a l i s t s c o n s u l t them d i r e c t l y .
I n each p a r a l l e l s e s s i o n , m i n i - r a p p o r t e u r s have t r i e d t o summarize t h e p a p e r s s e n t t o t h e Conference and t o e x t r a c t t h e most important i n f o r m a t i o n o u t of them. The s e v e r a l s e s s i o n s have been t h e f o l l o w i n g :
