1. EXTRUSION We extruded :
- forging stock bars 50mm diameter i n 2091
- Tubes i n 8090 size 50x40 m m 66x60 m m 6 7 x 5 5 rnrn
- Shapes o f various forms i n 8090. 2091 and CP276 b y d i r e c t classical extrusion on 1600 T and 4000 T extrusion press.
Sections f r o m 63 up t o 2800 m m 2 Thicknesses f r o m 1.2 m m up t o 8 m m Weight per m e t e r f r o m 0.160 up t o 7 kg.
Nothing p a r t i c u l a r is t o n o t i c e during extrusion process except f o r the specific pressure which is lower than t h a t o f t h e classical aeronautical alloy t o replace [about 2/3 o f t h a t o f 20241

Once the problems o f aspect resoived and the extrusion parameters giving the right structure obtained. extrusion of Aluminium-Lithium Alloys bring no special difficulties.
