AFR/RC33/R5:

The Regional Committee,

Considering Decision 8 of the twenty-seventh session of the Regional Committee relating to the participation of members of the Programme Sub-Committee in meetings of programming interests;

Having examined the reports of the members of the Programme Sub-Committee on the sixth session of the African Advisory Committee on Medical Research, the third meeting of the African Advisory Committee for Health Development and the sixth meeting of the Standing Committee on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries;

Noting the importance of such participation when considering the timetable for the regional plan of action for implementing the regional strategy for health for all and the report on monitoring progress in implementing strategies for Health for All by the Year 2000;

1. COMMENDS the members of the Programme Sub-Committee for the brevity and relevance of their report;

2. INVITES the members of the Programme Sub-Committee to continue their active participation in meetings of programming interest in accordance with Decision 8 of the twenty-seventh session of the Regional Committee;

3. THANKS the Regional Director for the measures taken to facilitate participation by members of the Programme Sub-Committee in meetings of Programming interest.
