A New ophtamological instrument containing a nitrogen pulsed laser tunable dye laser i s reported with the main techrxical characteristics : ene%y/pulse 0.1 mJ, puke time width 10 ns, o u t p t wavelength 550 nm, 590 nm, spot diameter in the biomicroscope focal plane 80 pm, repetition rate 12 pps.
On rabbit eyes the retina is dktmied unlike in the Ar+ laser case, the dye laser e f f e c t begihng with t h e inner layers. The inner limitting membrane is broken the oedema'of the optical fibres layer appear and the ganglia cells nuclei disappear.
On human eyes, a t 550 nm in proliferative d i a b t i c retinopathy the straps were punched, the proliferation decreased and the visual accuity was growing-
In hemophthalmus, t h e vitreous hemoragies were irradiated and the lowering of their densities was obtained dhich gave the acces t o the fundus.
In pseudotumoral maculopathy, irradiating with 590 nm lesion's invo- lution and the d h h i & h g of the hard exudates occurs.
In c a t a r a c t a cases the "liquefaction" of the caracted lens after ir- radiation with both wavelength was obtained, without destroing the capsule.
Current results are reported for the p l i f e r a t i v e retino-pathy, macular degenera&?s and extended treatments of cataracta.
