3.6 Conclusion et suggestions

T. gondii est présent et circule chez les petits ruminants destinés à la consommation humaine au Sud Bénin. L’infection est beaucoup plus élevée chez les chèvres en élevage familial au Sud que chez les ovins en provenance du Nord Bénin. Ce résultat met en exergue la forte contamination de l’environnement par les oocystes de T. gondii excrétéb s par les chats et la forte exposition des populations au risque d’infection humaine. Des campagnes de sensibilisation devraient donc être entreprises par les autorités en charge de la santé publique pour informer la population béninoise par rapport aux risques et aux mesures de prévention.
