EB7.R5 Tropical Ulcer The Executive Board,

Recognizing that tropical ulcer is a chronic and incapacitating disease which is refractory to treatment, is endemic in many countries, and hampers economic development ;

Recognizing that studies of its prevention, control and treatment should be encouraged ;

Considering, however, that budgetary limitations do not permit the World Health Organization to subsidize research on this disease,

1. REGRETS that it cannot lend financial assistance to work on tropical ulcer in 1952 ; 2. ENCOURAGES laboratories to study this disease.

(Adopted at the second meeting, 22 January 1951)
