Guess what is my recipe?

Before class

 Make a copy of the worksheet and cut a set of cards for each pair of students To start with

 Explain the game to students

In this activity, students have to guess a meal listening to steps of the recipe.

Example:

6 points: boil some salty water 5 points: cut up some tomatoes 4 points: peel an onion

3 points: put some olive oil in a frying pan 2 points: prepare the tomato sauce

1 point: add some pasta in the boiling water and cook it Students have to find: tomato sauce pasta

 Project the list of recipe to the whole class and make sure students understand all the expressions

Procedure

 Divide the class into pairs and give each pair a set of cards, which should be shuffled and placed on the desk face down.

 The first student picks up the top card and reads out the clues, one at a time.

 After listening to each clue, their partner guesses what the meal could be.

 If the guess is incorrect, the first student reads out the next clue, and so on.

 When the second student guesses correctly, he or she gets the number of points indicated next to the clue.

 The second student then picks up the next card from the pile, and starts reading out the clues while their partner tries to guess the job.

 The game finishes when all the cards have been read.

 The winner is the student with the most points.

6 points: you need a frying pan

5 points: cut up some onions and some tomatoes.

4 points: fry the onions and the tomatoes in the frying pan.

3 points: add some salt and some pepper.

2 points: break some eggs.

1 point: put the eggs in the frying pan.

Recipe to guess: apple pie Clues

6 points: you need some flour, some water and some salt.

5 points: mix it to form a dough.

4 points: take some eggs and some milk.

3 points: mix it in a bowl.

2 points: peel and cut some apples.

1 point: put the apples on the dough with the eggs and milk and cook.

Recipe to guess: strawberry milkshake

Clues

6 points: you need some fruit, some milk and some sugar for this recipe.

5 points: you also need a blender 4 points: wash and cut up ten

strawberries.

3 points: put the strawberries in the blender.

2 points: mix with the milk and the sugar.

1 point: serve in a glass with a straw.
