Abstract

Numerical study of mixed convection is conducted in a rectangular partitioned cavity, provided by two blocks heated at a constant temperature T

C.

The upper horizontal wall is fitted by a vertical axis inlet opening of fresh air C

. The lower horizontal wall is fitted by a vertical axis outlet opening C

The left vertical wall is adiabatic, the other walls are kept cold to T

The control parameters are the Rayleigh number Ra = 10

, the Reynolds number (10≤Re≤60), the Prandtl number (Pr = 0.72), the relative distance between the blocks (D=h/H=0.5), the blocks height (B=l/L=0.5), the openings (C

=d/H=0.375), and the form factor (A=L/H=3).

The results obtained show that heat transfer and the flow depend with Reynolds number Re.

On étudie numériquement la convection mixte dans une enceinte rectangulaire partitionnée, munie de deux blocs chauffants à température constante T
