A f t e r a t h o r o u g h d i s c u s s i o n , the W o r k i n g P a r t y p r o p o s e d t h e f o l l o w i n g r e s o l u t i o n to t h e B o a r d :

" H a v i n g c o n s i d e r e d t h e r e p o r t from t h e D i r e c t o r - G e n e r a l .on t h e C l i n i c a l and P h a r m a c o l o g i c a l E v a l u a t i o n of Drugs；

N o t i n g t h a t the D i r e c t o r - G e n e r a l is c o n v e n i n g a s c i e n t i f i c g r o u p to a d v i s e h i m on the a c t i o n to be t a k e n for the i m p l e m e n t a t i o n of t h i s r e s o l u t i o n ;
E m p h a s i z i n g the n e e d f o r e a r l y a c t i o n in r e g a r d to rapid d i s s e m i n a t i o n of i n f o r m a t i o n on a d v e r s e d r u g r e a c t i o n s ; and
C o n s i d e r i n g t h a t i n t e r n a t i o n a l c o - o p e r a t i o n is e s s e n t i a l t o achieve t h e o b j e c t i v e s of t h e a b o v e - m e n t i o n e d r e s o l u t i o n .

(i) to s e e k a g r e e m e n t ^ in c o - o p e r a t i o n w i t h W H O , on b a s i c p r i n c i p l e s and m i n i m u m r e q u i r e m e n t s a p p l i c a b l e to the t o x i c o l o g i c a l , p h a r m a c o l o g i c a l and c l i n i c a l e v a l u a t i o n of drugs；
(ii) to m a k e a v a i l a b l e to W H O , f o r r a p i d d i s s e m i n a t i o n t o M e m b e r S t a t e s , i n f o r m a t i o n of a n y a c t i o n t a k e n t o p r o h i b i t o r l i m i t t h e u s e of a d r u g as a r e s u l t of a d v e r s e r e a c t i o n s and of the e v i d e n c e w h i c h led to t h i s action•“
