AFR/RC34/R4: Country health programing The Regional Committee,

Having examined the report of the Regional Director;

Having takes note of the recommendations of the Global Programme Committee (GPC);

Mindful of the divergent views of the Seventh Regional Programme Meeting, the GPC and African Advisory Committee for Health Development;

1. TAKES note of the Regional Director’s report;

2. REQUESTS the Director-General to continue the evaluation of this experience;

3. CALLS for the setting-up of a Programme Sub-Committee working party to review in consultation with Member States the Special Service Agreement concluded between the Organization and the national coordinators, in order to specify the following items;

(i) the profile of the national coordinator;

(ii) the duration of the agreement;

(iii) remuneration;

(iv) status;

(v) nature of services.

4. TAKES note of the unanimous desire of the Member States to postpone analysis of the experience to the next Regional Committee;

5. REQUESTS the Regional Director to report to it thereon at its thirty-fifth session.
