ANNALS OF PURE AND APPLIED LOGIC
Preface
The European Summer Meeting LOGIC COLLOQUIUM 94 of the ASL has been held in Clermont-Ferrand (France) at the Universite d’Auvergne, organized by the Laboratoire de Logique, Algorithmique et Informatique de Clermont (LLAIC) on 21-30 July 1994. The Meeting had 244 participants from 31 different nations.
The topics covered by the 25 invited speakers can be classified as follows: Model Theory, Complexity of Algorithms and Logical Theories, Set Theory, Finite Models, Universal Algebra, Proof Theory, Modal Logics and Infinitary Logics. A lecture in memory of S.C. Kleene was given by the much esteemed R.O. Gandy.
The Proceedings of this conference will be published for the five former themes in the present special issue of the Annals of Pure and Applied Logic and the latter three topics, in a special issue of Studia Logica. We thank the Publishers for their hospitality.
The lecture by R.O. Gandy is not published but a video-tape of his talk is available by ordering it from LLAIC.
The editors warmly thank all their colleagues for helping in the referee process and selecting the best papers which the readers can find in the Proceedings of LC’94.
