POLICY RESPECTING THE PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The project

The municipal administration wishes to establish a Policy respecting the protection and enhancement of the natural environment and has asked the Office de consultation publique to hold information sessions and public consultations on this project.

Three key objectives

Maximize biodiversity and increase aggregate hectarage of protected natural spaces in Montréal;

Ensure sustainability of the natural environment in City parks, and promote the consolidation and viability of park ecosystems;

Foster enhanced integration of ecosystems and natural landscape in built-up areas.

Copies of the draft Policy are also available at Montréal borough offices, libraries, and Accès Montréal offices.

If you would like to express your opinion at one of the meetings, please register with the Office de consultation publique de Montréal before April 19, 2004, 4:00 p.m. Memorandums should also be submitted (ten hard copies, and electronic format) before that date at the Office.
