DESCRIPTION

The Department “Multi-scale Modeling and Simulation Laboratory” at the University “Université Paris-Est Marne-la- Vallée (UPEM)”, invites applications for an open “Full Professor” faculty position in the broad area of Mechanics and Uncertainty Quantification. Applicants should be engaged in research that helps to fulfill the strategic vision of the Department: http://msme.u-pem.fr

We seek candidates who conduct research in computational mechanics and uncertainty quantification on mechanical systems. Main areas of interest include, but are not limited to, advanced multi-scale deterministic and stochastic modeling, numerical simulation, and optimization in dynamics and vibration of structures and coupled systems, but also of complex materials.

The faculty member will teach (in French and/or in English) undergraduate and graduate courses as part of the Mechanics and Civil Engineering curricula.

Applicants must send by November 20, 2016, a detailed resume and cover letter, a statement of teaching interests, a statement of research interests and the names and contact information for three references (letters of reference are not solicited for this first stage of the recruitment process).

The expected start date is September 1, 2017.
