Perhaps not surprisingly, the percentage of respondents who answered "yes" more than doubled since we asked the same Question of the Month in November 2004, (Last month's results are above on the left; responses from 2004 are in the graph to the right.)
Last month, one reader who said "yes" stated, "Hybrid vehicles are going to be the future of the automobile indus- try, "Another added, "Increased gas mileage via a hybrid is goodfor me, and helps conserve the Earth's supply of oil,"
One naysayer, however, said, "The initial cost and main- tenance for a hybrid is too high. l am interested in the total cost of the vehicle, notjust the fuel. "Anothernoted, "Com- pared to the UK., petrol in the Us. is very inexpensive,"
