PRImary health Care in Europe Lundi 8 juin 2009

Cité internationale des congrès - Nantes Métropole

First Workshop :

Opening of a European Workshop on Analysis of Primary Care Practices 9am – 6pm - Salle Carnot

As a result of the “Hospital, health, patients, territories” law in preparation in France, primary health care organisation is being considered for the first time as a political priority. What is meant by “primary health care”? In France, two expressions are invariably used: “soins primaires” and “soins de premier recours”, but this vocabulary lacks the accuracy required to describe a reality that is just as imprecise.

The main goal of PRICE’s research group is to carry out a comparative study of primary health care systems between different European countries, within their own territories, based on health care professional practices.

It brings researchers and practitioners together from different regions of Spain, Sweden and France.

The day of study on June, 8th will launch our work and will lay the theoretical and methodological bases for exploratory research which will start during 2009.

With our guests, we will try to answer the following questions: How can we study care practices in different territories? What are the different pitfalls of comparative studies? Can we share definitions? Can models be imported?
