The Economic Commission for Africa,

Conscious of the existence of common features in the economic, social and cultural problems of -tha.Jf-r1 nan a.nrt.

Conscious of the afficacy and necessity of direct and human contacts between Heads of State,

Conscious also of the urgent need for unity and the stxengi&anjjag

of African solidarity,

1. Ex-presses its gratitude and good wishes to the Heads of the Africa*

and Malagasy States for this welcome initiative5

2. Expresses its hope for the complete success of the Conference5 3- Requests the Executive Secretary to convey this resolution to the heads of all the African- and.Malagasy States concerned.
