How to draw an ellipse

Put down your page widthwise. In the middle of the page, draw the 12 cm long segment [AB.]

Place point M so that by adding MA to MB you get 18 cm. Do it again and again with various points M. All together these points M form an ellipse that you can now draw.

How to draw a cardioid

In the middle of your page, draw the 6 cm diameter long circle. Mark a point S on this circle.

Mark a point A on this circle and draw line (SA). Place point B and point C on line (SA) so that

distances AB and AC are equals 3 cm. Do it again and again with various points A regularly

placed on the circle. All together these points M form a cardioid that you can now draw.
