How to draw a parabola – bis

In the middle of your page, draw line (d) and point S outside line (d). Point S will be 4 or 5 cm distant from line (d). On line (d) place point A. Slightly draw line (d’) perpendicular to line (d) passing by point A. Then draw the perpendicular bisector of segment [SA] : this line cuts line (d’) in point M. Do it again and again with various points A placed regularly on line (d). All together, points M form a parabola you will draw.

How to draw a cardioid – bis

In the middle of your page, draw the 8 cm radius long circle. Point O is the centre of this circle.

Mark a point S on this circle. Mark a point A on this circle and draw segment [OA]. Draw line (d) perpendicular to segment [OA] passing by A. Draw line (d’) perpendicular to line (d) passing by S. Line (d) cuts line (d’) in point M.
