The Royal Ontario Muséum announces the annual Veronika Gervers Research Fellowshlp in Costume and Textile History. An award of up to $9,000 will be awarded to a scholar interested in the history of textiles or costumes and who makes use of the muséums’ collection. The Multicultural History Society of Ontario and the Ontario Historical Society jointly offer the History of Ontario’s Peoples
Grant Programme. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to help non-profit societies in projects that raise public awareness of the history of a particular culture or cultures in Ontario. The American Antiquarian Society Research Fellowship Programme is available for scholars wishing to consult the

The application deadline for the Bora Laskin National Fellowship in Human Rights Research to encourage research and development in the field of human rights is October 1, 1989. Administered by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the fellowship is worth $45,000 plus an additional $10,000 for research expenses. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, hâve a graduate degree or the équivalent in a relevant research field and at least five years expérience in their field. The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh offers 25 fellowships for periods
