Internship at Orange Labs Lab
CORE/TPN/TRM Title
Design and evaluation of multi-point transport protocols in content-oriented networks.
Mission:
Information-centric networks have been recently proposed to fill the gaps between the current usage of the Internet, centered on content distribution, and the original network design, centered on host connectivity. Such novel networking paradigms allow simplified management for in-network caching, network mobility and multi-path communication.
The internship will focus on the protocol development of a multi-point data flow controller for a client using one of the following two networking prototypes:
• Network of Information (NetInf), proposed by the EU SAIL project , (http://www.sail- project.eu/)
• CCN, proposed at PARC (Palo Alto Research Center www.ccnx.org).
Profile:
Any of the following: Master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
Skills
The candidate must feel comfortable with computer programming ni C/C++, network protocols, Linux.
Duration
6 months in Spring and Summer 2012. Issy-Les-Moulineaux, France (close to Paris).
Other
The internship offers the possibility to be in contact with top-level international research. It is also an opportunity to design novel protocols that may have a large impact on the future Internet. The internship is within the framework of the European project SAIL involving industrial partners like Ericsson, Nokia and also partnership from academia.
The internship is also within the framework of a French national project in collaboration with Telecom ParisTech, INRIA, UPMC LIP6, Alcatel-Lucent.
