Why this course?

Result of an observation over the latest years Lots of goodwill, little practice...

Integration in a global context Heterogeneous group of students Resource optimization

Presentation techniques (Marcelo) – Classes 2 and 11 Critical reading (Renata) – Classes 3 and 10

Writing (Renata) – Classes 4 and 9

Experimental research (Giovanni) – Class 5

Evaluation methodology (Sébastien) – Classes 6 and 12 Project milestone (Marcelo) – Class 7

Detailed in the following slides

Homeworks (H)

Participation and presence in class (C) Project (P)

Final grade: G =0.4×H+0.25×C +0.35×P Note that homeworks count a lot!

(12)

Homeworks

At the end of each class, one (or more) homework is assigned The deadline depends on the topic (between 1 and 4 weeks)

The deadline is 11 p.m. of the date specified (strict deadline!) E.g., for the first homework, the deadline is September 29, 11:00 p.m.

Out of the homeworks, a subset will be graded You do not know which one...

Grade: Written document + presentation + quality of contribution

(16)

Project

Written document 3 pages in PDF

Template available on the website
