Abstract
At all stages the relations between Islam and the Christian world were
dominated by stereotypes pictures that were specific to one another also , the
Historical events have played a clear role in developing the intellectual perception
of the parties when the Analysis of the West's relationship with Islam may require
a return to history to break the stages of the cognitive development of these images
to each other in order to better understand the renewed conflict between the
parties. This study attempted to analyze the concept of terrorism and extremism
which has become the monopoly of Islam, for studying the large of relationship
between Islam and the West , recently in the wake of the events of 11 September.
The problem was defined as follows: What are the manifestations of Western
intolerance against Islam and its negative impact on dialogue between Islam and
Christianity? After the events of 11 September 2001.
The study aimed at
shedding light on the most important manifestations of intolerance on
the path of dialogue between Islam and Christianity, and how the reality
and future of Muslims in the West after the attacks of the latest
September 11, divided the study into three chapters: the first chapter
was a preliminary station for the to understand the terminology of
intolerance language and terminology, The second one dealt with the
most important manifestations of Western fanaticism, beginning with
the events of September 11, 2001, and its effects on the political map,
Islam and Muslims. Chapter III examined the impact of Western
fanaticism on the Dialogue and culture of tolerance and coexistence and
the role of dialogue as a process of "civilized"
At length ,The study concluded with result that any attempt to serious
dialogue between religions requires an objective return to those
historical events and perceptions that still dominate contemporary
attitudes and away from all forms of intolerance, and that the effects of
intolerance and extremism will be severe Western and Islamic worlds,
and actually ,there is a need for serious dialogue so it is a necessity to
achieve coexistence among peoples.
