1969 C.O.C.A. CONVENTION CALL

GENERAL INFORMATION

Conference proceedings officially begin Monday, June 2. However in­ formal gatherings are planned for Sunday, June 1, so registration can be concluded then. The conference concludes Wednesday evening with the C.G.C.A. banquet and dance. Interested delegates may wish to travel to Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains from June 5 to June 8.

Information regarding registration, reservations, placement, etc., will be distributed early in 1969. Further information from:

The 1969 conference theme will be "The Emerging Counsellor in Canada"-"La Consultation-Une Profession en Croissance." Papers and program proposals will be grouped into nine minor themes encompassing counselling activities of members and delegates.

1) Groups and Group Counselling

2) Family Life Education and Community Counselling 3) The World of Work-A Look to the Future 4) Counselling Children in Elementary School 5) Counsellor Education

6) Problems of Children in our Changing Society 7) Tests and Measurement

8) Organization and Administration of Counselling Services 9) Vocational Guidance

PROGRAM PROPOSALS

Any member of C.G.C.A. may propose a fully organized program. Time of each program will generally be 1lr4 to ItA hours. Proposals should be submitted before February I, 1969, and should include (l) Title of pro­ gram, (2) Name and mailing address of each participant, (3) A Statement of approximately 100 words describing the program, (4) Preferred sub­ theme (above) for program, (5) Special arrangements.

Programs may be presented in French or English. Proposals should be sent to:

Suggestions for possible programs are also welcomed. Please include as much detail as possible. All suggestions or proposals will be acknowledged. RESEARCH PAPERS

C.G.C.A. members and prospective members are also invited to read unpublished papers at this convention. Please note theme or sub-theme which best categorizes your work. An attempt will be made to publish many con­ vention papers in Canadian Counsellor/Conseiller Canadien. Abstracts of all papers will be available for distribution at the 1969 conference.

Authors should submit typed double-spaced summaries of their paper before February 1, 1969. Include the following information: (1) Name of presenter and all authors, (2) Titles and institutions represented, (3) Author's complete mailing address.

RESOLUTIONS-1969 CONVENTION

This year it is hoped that many resolutions will be presented in advance in writing, to expedite procedures at the CGCA annual meeting. CGCA mem­ bers are urged to submit draft resolutions with names of proposed mover and seconder before April 1969, so they may receive time for discussion on the convention order paper, and informal sessions.
