O trabalho centra-se na análise de questões surgidas a partir das análises efetuadas nos resultados obtidos por um estudo realizado sobre uma amostra de alunos, professores e profissionais de odontologia que atuam em duas instituições de ensino superior (uma particular e uma pública).

Recomendam-se estudos mais amplos, aplicados em um número maior de instituições, com o intuito de verificar, entre outros aspectos, a influencia de fatores como culturas e níveis de desenvolvimento regionais.

O trabalho não analisa ambientes de apoio em uso por instituições de ensino. Analisar o efeito do uso destes ambientes no rendimento ob servado nas turmas é outro tema de pesquisa de interesse. Ao avaliar este item será, também possível aprofundar o estudo sobre diferentes abordagens pedagógicas.

Outra extensão do presente trabalho é a que propõe avaliar o nível de conhecimento de conceitos associados às tecnologias de informação e de comunicação

entre profissionais das áreas da saúde. Trabalhos futuros nesta direção permitirão observar as necessidades de treinamento e de qualificação requeridos para a adoção da abordagem contida neste trabalho.
